Hundreds of audience members got an artistic treat at the Eagan High School on Saturday evening, as a variety of singers, musicians, dancers and comedians took to the stage for the first-ever "Eagan Has Talent" fundraiser.

A total of 23 acts, including guitarists, a women's choir, a father/daughter comedy and magic duo and others performed as part of the talent show. The performers all auditioned in October to participate in the event, which was a joint fundraiser for the Eagan Foundation and the Eagan High School. Many of the performers were Eagan High School students. Tickets to the show cost $10 for adults and $7 for students.

The talent show was the second of two significant fundraising events hosted this year by the nonprofit foundation, which distributes college scholarships to Eagan students. Earlier this spring, the organization held its annual wine-tasting at the Eagan Community Center—an annual tradition that serves as the primary fundraising event for the foundation.

Going forward, foundation members hope to hold a talent show each year to showcase local talent and help bolster the organization's coffers, "Eagan Has Talent" coordinator Greg Wilken said.

"As you can see, we have an amazing collection of talent, so the money we're raising tonight will help both the students in high school now, and then the foundation, which gives scholarships  to those who go beyond high school," Wilken said at the talent show.
