Blue Cross-Blue Shield Leader to Speak with Eagan Rotary Club Today

Also tonight in Eagan - Summer gets sweet with Market Fest (pictured) at the Eagan Community Festival Grounds.

Michael Guyette, the CEO and leader of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, will speak to business leaders from Eagan and beyond when he appears today at the noon Rotary Club meeting.

Eagan Rotary meets weekly at the Eagan Community Center at noon on Wednesdays.

Guyette is guiding Blue Cross through a transformative time in the insurance industry, with many pieces of the Affordable Care Act set to go into effect next year. 

He was named CEO earlier this year after most recently serving as president of national accounts for Aetna in Hartford, Conn., where he was responsible for overseeing operational performance and business strategy for Aetna’s national accounts division serving more than 8 million members. He has also held senior leadership positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida as senior vice president for the company’s diversified business unit and as chief sales officer and group vice president for its national business unit.

Eagan Fun Fest Continues

Wednesdays in Eagan mean fun, especially at night, thanks to Eagan Fun Fest, which begins at 4 p.m. The Eagan Market Fest is an award-winning community event that began in 2007. The event has grown into a highlight of the summer season for individuals and families with over 33,000 people attending during the three-month season and is a place where attendees come to experience Eagan's community spirit.

The night features a farmer's market with over 60+ vendors, weekly concerts at the Eagan Rotary Band Shell, free Kid's Art Area, playground, walking trails, special theme nights and more, the Eagan Market Fest has something for everyone to enjoy. Bring a picnic or purchase food onsite and invite others to join you for a relaxing evening where you can connect together.
