Climate Change Activists to Meet in Eagan

The Citizens Climate Lobby will be convening this weekend at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center.

This weekend, Eaganites are invited to a meeting of the Citizens Climate Lobby, an activist group that aims to "build political will for a sustainable climate."

The Dakota County chapter will be meeting on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m. in the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center (860 Cliff Road in Eagan). Anyone interested in learning more is encouraged to call 952-250-3320. This month's meeting will feature Sam Gomberg, an energy analyst with the midwest office of the Union of Concerned Scientists, who is on deck to speak on how a carbon tax could affect farmers.  
 
In other news:
• Time is running out to enjoy Eagan's summer activities—notably the city's Puppet Wagon, which will roll into Blackhawk Park at 10 a.m. this Friday and then make a trip to Patrick Eagan Park at 11:15. As of Friday, swimmers will also have exactly one month to enjoy Cascade Bay. The last day of season in Sept. 2.
Caponi Art Park will be hosting a Mexican folk dancing group, Los Alegres Bailadores, on Sunday. The troupe will be accompanied by Mariachi Flor Y Canto at the  the Theater in this Woods. The show begins at 6:30 p.m.
