School's Out
Students at Districts 196 and 197 will be out of school on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 17 and 18.
Scavenger Hunt in the Library
Children ages 3-12 can choose to work in teams for the scavenger hunt at Wescott Library. Each team must include at least one reader. Winners will receive a gently-used book as a prize. The scavenger hunt starts at 10:30 a.m.
Play Music on an African Drum
ArtStart is holding a class at Wescott Library with master drummer Ghana Mbagye from Senegal. Youth will learn dance moves and how to play music on African drums. Registration is required. The class is for youth ages 10-16 and takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Fire Safety in the Home
Learn how to create a fire safety plan for your home. A certified safety professional will give the presentation at Easter Lutheran Church, located at 4545 Pilot Knob Road. The presentation will start at 7 p.m.
