New Development in the Works, National Night Out on the Way

Also this week: South metro runners are invited to partake in a little off-roading and Market Fest returns with the R & B band Armadillo Jump.

This week, the Eagan City Council will consider a host of new business projects and finalize the sale of city-owned property for a new apartment and retail development.

Monday, the council will vote on the Gratus project (a mixed use development north of Yankee Doodle near Coachman Road), a proposal to build a new laboratory at Power System Research and finalize a purchase agreement between the city and Stonebridge Development and Acquisition LLC, which hopes to build a new apartment/retail center in the Cedar Grove Redevelopment Area.

Later in the week:
• On Aug. 6, Eaganites will celebrate National Night Out, a series of block parties sponsored by the Eagan Police and Fire Departments, the Streets Department, and the Eagan Citizen’s Crime Prevention Association. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m.
• Also on Tuesday: Two local rec groups, South of the Rivers Recreators (S.O.R.R.) and Runner’s Gate, will be hosting off-road trail runs in parks in Lakeville and Burnsville.
• On Aug. 7, Market Fest is back, and this time the entertainment will be Armadillo Jump, a raucous Rhythm and Blues band.
