Share Your STEM Career with District 196 Students

Individuals and representatives from companies and colleges are needed to participate in the fair.

District 196 high school students will have the opportunity to learn about careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at the second annual STEM Career Fair in February.

Eagan High School is hosting the event for the second time, and this year, the fair is district-wide for each of the high schools.

To pull off another successful event, STEM Career Fair Coordinator Penny Anderson is looking for individuals and representatives of companies and colleges who are willing to to tell students about STEM careers.

"The backbone of the fair is really the parents in our community," Anderson said.

She is looking for a wide variety of STEM professionals to participate in the fair, such as researchers, healthcare professionals, actuaries, scientists and engineers.

Participating professionals are encouraged to bring props or items that can draw attention to their booth and help initiate conversations with students.

The deadline to register for a booth at the fair is Feb. 1.

The STEM Career Fair is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25. Those with booths at the fair should plan to arrive between 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Food will be provided for participating professionals until 6 p.m.
