Burnsville Resident Places Second in Dakota County Poetry Contest
A Burnsville resident placed second in the Dakota County Library's 2013 poetry contest adult category.
Howie Kestell's onomatopoeic poem, "Junkie," included a link to a psychedelic, disorienting YouTube video he made. You can read his poem above.
Dakota County residents in five age groups submitted poems in April for National Poetry Month. Winners were announced last week:
Children - Ages 6-8
- 1st Place: Spring Time by Sidney N., Rosemount
- 2nd Place: Great Steak by Aleah S., Farmington
- 3rd Place: It's Spring by Kristine J., Apple Valley
- Honorable Mention: Soccer by Gaby A., Apple Valley
Children - Ages 9-11
