Eagan Drivers to Face Road Closures, Traffic Delays

Work on highways between Eagan and St. Paul begins Thursday.

Starting Thursday, Eagan drivers may face delays on I-35E between here and St. Paul.

Crews plan to resurface the interstate and make other changes between Lone Oak Road and Highway 5/West Seventh street, according to a news release from the City of Eagan.

Lanes, ramps and roads will close. For two full weekends, northbound lanes will close, the news release states. And for two more weekends, southbound and non-rush-hour lanes will close. More lane closures may happen during peak traffic hours. Details and dates will be released when they are available.

Lanes at first will close during non-rush-hours on I-35E south of I-494, as well as north of Lone Oak Road, the news release says. When that’s done, crews will work north of I-494.

Two ramps will close for seven days at 9 a.m. Aug 22.  They are southbound I-35E to westbound Highway 110, and westbound Highway 110 to northbound I-35E. Drivers can follow posted detour signs.
