Eagan Firefighters Respond to Structure Blaze

Nobody was injured in the fire at 1314 Wilderness Run Curve in Eagan.

Eagan police and fire officials responded to a structure fire early this morning at 1314 Wilderness Run Curve. The home's owner, her two children and dog escaped the fire without injury, according to a news release from Eagan Fire Department.

The house, which was significantly damaged in the fire, had been under renovation since May, according to the news release. The house didn't have working smoke alarms because of the renovations.

Shortly after midnight, the homeowner woke up because she heard a noise. She and her kids were sleeping in the lower portion of the house during renovations, the release explained. She went upstairs, found the kitchen on fire, and went downstairs to wake her children. By the time they tried to go back up, the fire had spread, so they escaped through the basement patio with their dog. They called 911 and went to a neighbor's house, according to the release.
