Eagan's outdoor skating rinks and the Trapp Farm Tubing Hill are open for the season, according to an announcement posted to the city's Facebook page on Dec. 28.

The city has five ice rinks with staffed indoor shelters for skaters. Those rinks and shelters are located at Bridle Ridge Park, Goat Hill Park, Rahn Park, Sky Hill Park and Quarry Park. The city also has a family skating site at Clearwater Park and unsupervised skating rinks at a handful of other city parks.

Skating rinks may be closed if any of the following weather and ice conditions occur:

  • The temperature is –10 degrees or colder.
  • The wind-chill index is –15 degrees or colder, as per the National Weather Service.
  • Snow or ice has accumulated to the point where it can not be cleared by City staff.
  • Warm temperatures cause significant melting (ice rinks and sledding hill).

Eagan residents can call the city's hotline for updates (651) 675-5511 or visit the city's website to learn more about skating rink hours and operations.
