U of M OPEN HOUSE at UMore Park

Free - Fun - Educational, U of M annual Open House event at the Rosemount Research and Outreach Center on the grounds of the main research complex and in the midst of the U of M Master Gardeners Research and Display gardens. The Open House highlights U of M agricultural research and innovation and the impact it has on your life. Interactive, educational exhibits are staffed by U of M research faculty, Master Gardeners and related partners. Exhibits include cows, turkeys, honey bees, monarch butterflies, endangered trees, live raptors, horses, 4H animals, Bell Museum, bioenergy research, crop production and consumer uses, environmental issues and cancer preventive foods.  Kid-friendly activities include hay wagon tours, face painting, potato dig, corn and soybean play boxes, exhibit passport and dairy goat milking! Adult-friendly activities include all of the above plus wine tasting, garden tours, mini-gardening classes and horticultural tours! Farm-fresh corn-on-the-cob and lemonade provided free to all guests. Brats and hot dogs available for sale benefiting the U of M Extension State Master Gardener program in Dakota County. U of M Dairy Salesroom and Meat Lab provide samples and opportunities to purchase their meats and cheeses. Entertainment provided by Goldy Gopher and live music by the Mouldy Figs!
