Get Out: Weekend Activities In and Around Eagan

Go star-gazing, listen to acoustic music or participate in a breast cancer fundraiser this weekend in Eagan.


  • When/Where:
    8 p.m. on Friday, March 30, at in Eagan.

  • When/Where:
    1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at the Mall of America in Bloomington.
    Why Go: Cheerful Givers presents "The Great Minnesota Birthday Party", which is an event to raise awareness of the organization's mission to provide toy-filled birthday gift bags for children living in poverty and to raise needed funds. Cheerful Givers will celebrate reaching its milestone of giving "Half A Million Kids" birthday gift bags since the organization began, and the 500,000th birthday bag will be assembled by ten special guests on stage. Governor Dayton has proclaimed it "Cheerful Givers Day" throughout Minnesota! The birthday party experience includes information kiosks, a Knowledge Quest, Build-a-Birthday Bag Station, a Scavenger Hunt through the Mall, and a Join the Party opportunity. Event is free with donations encouraged.

  • When/Where: 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at in Eagan.
    Why Go: Help support local Susan G. Komen 3-day For The Cure Walkers! They will be walking 60 miles to help in the fight against breast cancer. Events and features at Wildcats include drink specials, a 50/50 raffle with a cash prize, karaoke at 9 p.m. and a silent auction from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening.
    Cost: Admission is free.

  • When/Where:
    8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at in Eagan.
    Why Go: Check out a new musical venue in Eagan and listen to the acoustic stylings of Dave Snyder, who plays a wide range of music but specializes in Texas/Oklahoma Red Dirt and Blues. Snyder has a musical catalogue of more than 350 songs. Special guest John Scott will play on the harp. Zest offers New American-type cuisine from a scratch kitchen and has a full bar.
    Cost: Admission is free.

    10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan.
    Why Go: What's the first sign of spring? Find out with a park naturalist. Ages 3-6. Registration is required. Click here to register.
    Cost: $8 per youth.
