Get Out: Weekend Events in and Around Eagan

  • When/Where: 7 p.m. on Friday, March 9 at Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights.
    Why Go:
    One hundred years ago this spring, on the night of April 14, 1912, the “unsinkable” Titanic struck an iceberg and came to grief with terrible loss of life. The Awesome Children’s Theater tells the true story of that famous disaster through the eyes of real-life passengers six-year-old Douglas Spedden and seventeen-year-old Jack Thayer.
    Cost: General admission tickets are $3.00 in advance, $5.00 at the door. To purchase tickets and for further information, contact the Inver Grove Heights/South St. Paul Community Education office at 651-306-3633.

  • When/Where:
    8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center in Eagan.
    Why Go: This former Miss North Carolina stands tall at 6'2" and has a personality, heart and sense of humor just as soaring. For years, her witty speeches were mostly limited to conventions and meetings. But with the dawn of the digital age, the world became exposed to Robertson’s infections humor and before long she went viral. Now with six nationally released DVDs, three books, hundreds of hours on Sirius-XM satellite radio and over 13 million YouTube hits, the demand for Robertson's family-friendly and engaging brand of comedy has grown exponentially.
    Cost: Tickets cost $34.50.

  • When/Where:
    10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 10 at in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    Spend some time chatting face-to-face with Sen. Ted Daley (R) about state politics, his views and the 2012 election cycle, among other topics. Appointments are strongly recommended and can be made by calling the Senator’s Capitol office at 651-297-8073.

  • When/Where:
    5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    Taste a variety of foods from a number of nations and cultures. Organizers will also be raffling off tickets for a concert at the Ted Mann Concert Hall featuring the Gay Men's Chorus on March 30th 2012 and other prizes. Tickets for the event will be on sale at the door.
    Cost: Tickets for the event are $12, while raffle tickets cost $3.

  • When/Where:
    4 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at in Eagan.
    Why Go:
    Fun painting, games, prizes and treats. Grand prize
    is the new Hop DVD for the best bunny costume! If you have any questions give Color Me Mine a call at 651-454-4099.
    Cost: $6 child studio fee.
