When/Where: 6 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at the .
Why Go: The Eagan Theater Company's second-ever performance is a mystery dinner show that spoofs the movie “Casablanca” and the American dream of winning the jackpot. "Dealt a Deadly Hand: Murder at the Pocono Royale Casino" takes place at Rick’s club, the first privately-owned imaginary gambling casino in Eagan, Minn. Rick dreams of striking it rich—then a crafty senator and lobbyist try to claim the land and his gold-digging ex-wife Lola shows up.
Cost: Tickets for the dinner and play are $35. To register for this event, call Eagan Parks and Recreation Department at 651-675-5500.
When/Where: 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, at Rosemount High School.
Why Go: Check out crafts from more than 80 vendors during the Spring Craft Show at Rosemount High School on March 17. There will be food and a bake sale at the event, which is hosted by the RHS Senior Class Party Committee.
Cost: Admission to the event is free.
When/Where: 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, at the .
Why Go: Take notes, bring a camera, wear comfortable shoes, bring a checkbook, print labels, register early. All great tips for navigating a bridal show, but here is one more. Skip the chaos and come to the Eagan Community Center for a manageable, intimate event. With about 30 vendors on hand, you’ll have plenty of selection without being overwhelmed. Local wedding vendors will be on hand to answer your questions and showcase their talents. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with professionals in the wedding industry and win some valuable prizes, including a drawing for $100 off your community center rental fee. There is no need to register and you can wear whatever shoes you want!
Cost: Admission is $2 per person.
When/Where: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
Why Go: Orchestra member Elise Molina moves from the first violin section to lead the ensemble in one of Bach’s most compelling piano concerti, the Piano Concerto in F minor, and members of the woodwind section perform Baroque favorites including the Brandenburg Concert No. 4, all in the intimacy of the Black Box Theater.
Cost: Tickets for adults are $15, seniors 55+ are $12 and students are $5. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center Box Office, or via Ticketmaster by calling 800-982-2787.
When/Where: Noon on Sunday, March 18, at the Como Conservatory in St. Paul.
Why Go: Enjoy free musical concerts at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, under the glass in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. Food and drinks will be available to purchase. The music line-up is Gnarl, a continually evolving sonic experience. Four artists exchange and develop ideas in an ongoing musical conversation, ranging in mood from a delicate interplay of tones to a chaotic tangle of sound. Each performance is unique, and no-one knows in advance where it might lead.
Cost: Free
