The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has delayed work on I-35 between Lakeville and Burnsville that was originally set to start Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at 10 a.m.

The project is now scheduled to start Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m., with northbound traffic reduced to one lane that weekend, ending by Monday, Sept. 16 at 5 a.m. The roadway affected is I-35 from County Road 50 to the I-35/35W/35E split.

A MnDOT spokesperson said there was simply a decision to put the project off by a week.

Also this weekend: A portion of I-35W and I-35E will lose one lane each for a few hours. Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, the right lane of southbound I-35W and the left lane of I-35E between County Road 42 and Crystal Lake Road will close. All lanes will re-open by noon, Saturday, Sept. 7.

At this time, the eastbound I-494 closure remains scheduled for this weekend.
