Kids 'N Kinship: Meet Laneos

Each week, Patch profiles an area youth looking for adult mentors through the Kids 'n Kinship program. This week we introduce you to Laneos.

First name: Laneos
Age:
11
Interests: Laneos is very active and loves all kinds of sports (including baseball, basketball, football, hockey and roller blading) and he also enjoys building with Legos.
Personality/Characteristics: Laneos is active, talkative, sweet, giving and thoughtful. His single parent mom is looking for a positive role model for
Laneos. He struggles in school (he’s in fifth grade) and talks back to his teacher.
Goals/Dreams: He would love to go to a skatepark or fishing or play football with a mentor!
Looking For: An individual male or couple mentor to look up to and have fun with.
For More Information: Laneos is one of almost 50 children waiting for a mentor through Kids ‘n Kinship, a private nonprofit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. Monday April 16 at the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
