Kids 'N Kinship: Meet Samantha

Each week we profile an area youth looking for adult mentors through the Kids 'n Kinship program. This week we introduce you to Samantha.

First name: Samantha
Age:
14
Interests: Samantha is athletic and likes softball, basketball, swimming, soccer and mini-golf. She also likes cooking, scrapbooking, movies, shopping and games.
Personality/Characteristics: She likes school, especially math and writing, and she does well academically, getting As and Bs. Her single-parent mom is looking for a mentor Samantha can look up to and bond with and who can give her daughter the opportunity for activities.
Goals/Dreams:
Samantha is in 8th grade and will start high school this fall.
Looking For: She would like a mentor to look up to and talk with and who is “outdoorsy”!
For More Information: Samantha is one of almost 50 children waiting for a mentor through Kids ‘n Kinship, a private nonprofit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 16, at the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
