Editor's note: This is a weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Dakota County animal rescues.

Foxy is an adorable little terrier mix who weighs in at 34 pounds and is two years old. She adores all the people she meets and is very good with young kids. She loves to snuggle up on the couch and is happiest when she is with someone. She would be a wonderful companion for someone home much of the time.

Foxy recently had her last litter of puppies—nine healthy little pups who are also looking for homes. Foxy is happy to be done with that and is now spayed and looking for her own home. She just wants to be next to her person and cuddle up to whoever will pet her.

Foxy sleeps right through the night either in a crate or tucked in with one of the kids. Foxy is house trained and is crate trained, although she is trustworthy to be left home alone with free range of the house for a few hours at a time. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and doesn't seem to mind cats either.

Foxy does require a fenced yard only because she is a little shy about doing her business while on a leash. Foxy will be very devoted to her new family and would love to have someone around much of the time.

She is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Please read her web-page in detail for her vet information and adoption fee and criteria. The criteria are developed to help ensure a good match between dogs and families.

Foxy is fostered in Lakeville. For more information on how to adopt Foxy, please visit www.happyhoundrescue.org or email happyhoundrescue@aol.com.
