The rotary club held its annual "black tie optional" auction and dinner event this past Saturday night at the Eagan Community Center.

It was that time of year again for women and men alike to put their best outfits on and enjoy an evening at the annual Eagan Rotary Art Gala.

The event was held Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Eagan Community Center from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

According to Eagan Rotary President-elect Scott Swenson, there were about 330 tickets sold for the event and he was very happy with the turn-out.

There was a silent auction, live music, appetizers, drinks, a gourmet catered dinner, a live auction and plenty of visiting and mingling.

"We had the most items featured in our silent auction than we've had in years," said rotarian Dave Sawicki.

Added Swenson, "This year our sponsorship [was] up."

Sawicki said the event was a "whirlwind" and that he was glad he got a chance to talk to so many people.

"Overall, it was a great night," Sawicki added.
