Roughly 320 guests participated in the Eagan Foundation's annual wine tasting fundraiser at the Eagan Community Center on Thursday.

The event featured samplings of wines from the Kowalski Wine Shop. For beer lovers, Granite City offered tastings of their microbrewery beers. Kowalski’s also caters the grand cuisine buffet. While sampling beverages, guests listened to jazz musician Kevin Gamble on the keyboards and perused dozens of silent auction items from area businesses.

The Eagan Foundation, which supports local students and organizations through scholarships and grants, will issue 94 scholarships later this spring, a 31 percent increase from last year, Chair Bob Braun said. Among the scholarships this year will be offerings for students planning to attend two-year technical college programs. The foundation will also issue nine scholarships for students who have faced "hardship", Braun said.
