Donations of unhealthy foods are redistributed to the Salvation Army. Some of the foods that the center will not shelve, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, include:

The Eagan and Lakeville Resource Centers are not the only food shelves focusing on healthy foods. With concerns about obesity, diabetes and other health issues, more food shelves are looking at creating healthy food policies. As they make these policies, they are considering whether or not they should ban or limit unhealthy food donations.
