Visiting Artists to Bring Bookbinding, Tile Making to Eagan Art House

Two artists from out of town will be teaching techniques from Japan and Renaissance Italy, respectively.

The Eagan Art House will host two guest artists this fall.

Sheila McNellis Asato will teach traditional Japanese Bookbinding during the second week of October. Asato has been a visual artist and teacher for over 25 years. She has exhibited in the Europe and Asia in addition to the U.S.

The second class will take place in november. A Duluth artist, Karin Kraemer, will teach Maiolica tile making. Kraemer began her professional artistic career as a glassblower, but returned to ceramics after she moved to West Virginia. Maiolica tiles are hand painted and glazed. 

The bookbinding will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. The tile making class is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Each workshop will cost $30 per person. Supplies are included in the price. Pre-registration is required.
