Volunteers Needed for 8th Annual New Year's Eve Party

The party is at the Lebanon Hills Visitor's Center in Eagan.

Dakota County Parks is hosting its 8th annual New Year's Eve party and is looking for help from volunteers to pull it off.

Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Younger volunteers must be accompanied by an adult with one adult per four children. Those who volunteer receive free admission to the event and a "hot thank-you dinner."

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Light Over 1,000 Luminaries
  • Greet Visitors
  • Accept Admission
  • Help Manage Sledding Hill "Traffic" 
  • Snowshoe and Kicksled Helpers
  • Trail Patrol
  • Help visitors sort waste into compost, recycle and trash bins

The New Year's Eve party will take place at the Lebanon Hills Visitor's Center in Eagan from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 31. There are several activities planned, including snowshoeing, sledding, ice skating, live animals, bonfires and a ball drop. 

Admission is $8 per person if purchased early and $10 at the door. Children ages 5 years and under are free. 

Visitors should bring their own sleds, ice skates and snowshoes; however, snowshoe rental is available for a fee. 

Park for free at Woodcrest Church, located at 525 Cliff Road. A free shuttle will transport visitors to and from the event.
