Wescott Library Celebrates "Take Your Child to the Library Day"

The library will be hosting a special story time for children on Feb. 2, and every child who signs up for a library card will get a free book.

On Feb. 2, libraries across the country will mark the second annual "Take Your Child to the Library Day"—and Wescott Library in Eagan has a few special activities in store.

Local residents will be able to participate in a special storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 at the library. Also, every child who gets their first library card that day will receive a gently-used book.

Nadine Lipman, a children's librarian in Waterford, Conn., came up with the idea for Take Your Child to the Library Day and selected the first Saturday in February as the annual day of celebration.
