Caponi Art Park Gets $21,265 Grant for Creative Adventures Program

The grant will allow the park to continue the program, which gives low-income children, youth, and families access to arts education programs free of charge.

The in Eagan is the beneficiary of a recent $21,265 grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.

The grant money will be used to bolster Caponi Art Park's Creative Adventures program, which gives low-income children, youth, and families access to arts education programs free of charge, according to information posted on the Minnesota State Arts Board website.

As part of the free, half-day Creative Adventures program, groups visiting the park can choose between a hands-on art activity or an interactive performance, according to the Caponi Art Park website. Both options also include an educational and tactile tour of the park's sculpture garden, which winds along hillsides and through woods.

The tours, activities, and performances can be tailored  to suit youth from preschool through high school. One adult for every 10 youth is required to accompany the group. For children under 6 years of age, one adult is required for every 5 youth. Stipends for transportation costs may also be available.
