Easter Community Theatre Presents Godspell Starting April 19

The church's newly-formed Easter Community Theatre will perform.

announces the formation of Easter Community Theatre, and its first production, Godspell.  Since its inception 38 years ago, Easter Lutheran Church has had a significant artistic presence in the Eagan community. Now, Easter is moving to strengthen those roots through musical theater.  Easter Community Theatre is led by local musician Jason Hansen, who has experience spreading throughout the Twin Cities from various community productions to the Children's Theatre Company and the Guthrie Theater.

"Rehearsals have been fantastic; we've got a terrific cast with lots of energy and huge vocal power. A lot of buzz has been surrounding this production!" explains Jason Hansen.

"I am beyond excited about Godspell, because it is an opportunity to use that gift of music and share it with the broader community," says Kristen Capel, lead pastor at Easter. "Godspell literally tells the story of Jesus from beginning to end—and it does so in a way that engages people of all ages in the acting, the singing and the telling of the story of God's love."

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19; 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20; 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 at Easter Lutheran Church's Hill location, 4200 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan.
