Caponi Art Park Open House

Caponi Art Park and Learning Center invites the public to a free, family-friendly open house on Saturday, May 5 from 1-4 p.m. to celebrate the reopening of the park for its 2012 season. Visitors can explore the Art Park, and enjoy ongoing children’s art activities, including mural painting, a snaking community sculpture, and craft scavenger hunt.

Caponi Art Park celebrates 20 years of art and nature in 2012. This year’s open house will also serve as an informal celebration of the 20th anniversary. Cake will be served and an exhibition of images from the Art Park’s history will be on display.

In the event of severe weather, the event will be canceled. Weather-related announcements will be made via the park’s website (www.caponiartpark.org), enewsletter, and Facebook page.

Caponi Art Park opens to the public free of charge May 1 for its 2012 season. All are invited to come explore the meandering walking trails, discover dozens of sculptures, and enjoy performances under the oak trees. The Art Park is open Tuesday through Sunday, May through October from 9 a.m. until seasonal close time.
