Minnesota Sinfonia Performance at Caponi Art Park

The Minnesota Sinfonia returns to Caponi Art Park on Sunday, June 17 at 7 p.m. for their annual Father’s Day Summer Pops Concert. New this year, craft supplies will be on hand before and during the performance for children and families to create a snaking community sculpture. The Summer Performance Series, presented by Crown Rental, is a family-friendly program that features a wide variety of music, theater and dance concerts presented free of charge on Sunday evenings in the Theater in the Woods outdoor amphitheater.

This year’s Summer Family Pops Concert by the Minnesota Sinfonia’s celebrates both classical and popular music from the movies to the romantics. This summer’s diverse concert program will include music from Oliver, The Magnificent Seven, Strauss’s waltzes, Chicago!, and a few marches. Characterized by their elegant strings, this fine-tuned professional chamber orchestra boasts some of the very best musicians in the Twin Cities committed to providing free access to music.

The event is free, with a $5 per person suggested donation to help make the Summer Performance Series possible. The performance will be rescheduled for July 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the event of poor weather; any weather-related announcements will be made via the park’s website, Facebook, and Twitter page. More information about the concert, as well as the Summer Performance Series, can be found at http://www.caponiartpark.org/programs/summerperformanceseries/.
