Minnesota Valley Men's Chorale Spring Concerts

The Minnesota Valley Men's Chorale, under the direction of Steven O. Boehlke, will perform two Spring concerts on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2, 2011. The 40-voice men's choir will perform a concert of sacred and secular pieces, spirituals and show tunes.

This year, the concerts also will showcase exceptional high school talent. Friday's performance will feature selected soloists and ensembles from several area high schools. Special guests at Saturday's performance will will be The Minnesota Valley High School Men’s Chorale - a festival choir of more than 80 top male singers selected from 10 area high schools. For Saturday's finale, the two groups will combine their talents as more than 120 men's voices perform "The Awakening" by Joseph M. Martin.

The high school festival, a first for Dakota County, is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people on  November 4, 2008. High schools participating in the inaugural festival are Apple Valley, Chanhassen, Eagan, Eastview, Edina, Farmington, Jordan, Lakeville North, Rosemount, and Simley.
