Fans of former Eagan resident Nicholas Mrozinski can breathe another sigh of relief this week. The eccentric soul singer made it through another round of eliminations on NBC's "The Voice".

Contestants Sylvia Yacoub and Bryan Keith received the least amount of votes from the show this week, and both left the competition during a special elimination episode that aired at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night. That leaves Top 8 contenders Trevin Hunte, Cody Belew, Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott, Dez Duron, Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown—as well as Mrozinski, who goes by the stage name Nicholas David on the show.

On Monday, Mrozinski—backed by a full choir and behind a piano—performed "Lean on Me". His rendition of the tune drew tears from Cee Lo Green and cheers and high-fives from a viewing party at Ansari's Mediterranean Grill, where many of Mrozinski's friends and family were watching.

Mrozinski and the remaining survivors on The Voice will perform next Monday. And voting will begin anew following their performances next week. To learn how to cast your vote for Nicholas, click here.
