Nicholas Mrozinski belted out not one, but two performances on Monday night's episode of NBC's "The Voice", as local students watched him perform from a viewing party at his alma mater, Eagan High School.

Mrozinski, who goes by the stage name Nicholas David on "The Voice", performed "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire, then followed that song choice up with Academy Award-winning song "Over the Rainbow".

The former Eagan resident and artist received some tough criticism on "September", with at least two celebrity coaches saying he needed to hit the chorus of the song harder. But "The Wizard of Oz" classic won Mrozinski more praise.

“That was magic, and that was beautiful," celebrity coach Blake Shelton said. "Only you could do what you just did up there."

Mrozinksi is one of six remaining performers on "The Voice". Two of those contestants will likely be eliminated tomorrow night on an episode that airs at 7 p.m.

Elimination is based on the number of votes the contestant receives from the viewing audience. Polls opened following the Monday night episode.

Chorus totaly over ran him on his vocals with September. He couldnt sing over them the sound man should be scorned! Its like trying to sing a seranade and having the Morman tabernacle chior behind u singing/playing music with mics blasting around u. U get drowned out. Somewere over the rainbow was outstanding and only he could create such style with the american classic! wtg Nicholas!
