If the popularity of former-Eagan-resident-turned-singing-star Nicholas Mrozinski can be measured by his mentions on Twitter, then Mrozinski is doing very well, indeed.

Mrozinski, who goes by the stage name Nicholas David on NBC's "The Voice", exploded on social media Monday night, with fans tweeting praise for the soulful singer following his live, semifinals performance. Mrozinski, one of the top 12 singers on The Voice, sang a version of Huey Lewis' "The Power of Love."

"Nicholas David is too cool! Love that dude. He oozes soul," fan Stephanie Christie tweeted.

"That boy has got it! Move over Huey! Big man just owned that song," another Twitter user, identified as billy t. short, wrote.

One of the show's four celebrity coaches, Adam Levine, also dug the longtime singer's performance.

"You are so strange and beautiful," Levine said following Mrozinski's performance. "It's so awesome."

Mrozinski's coach, Cee Lo Green, waxed philosophical on Mrozinski's skills.

"There is no better success than realization of self," Green said. "Everyone is different and wonderful in their own way, and you represent that."

Audience voting opened following the conclusion of the show on Monday night. The winners of this week's semifinal rounds will be announced during an episode of The Voice that airs tomorrow at 7 p.m.
