Sporting a newly-trimmed beard and backed by a full choir, former Eagan resident and musician Nicholas Mrozinski wowed audiences Monday night with his latest performance on NBC's "The Voice".

Mrozinski performed Bill Withers' "Lean on Me" during a live performance round airing at 7 p.m. on NBC. For the first time during the nationally televised musical competition, Mrozinski played the piano while singing. The artist, who grew up in Eagan and attended Eagan High School, is one of the 10 musicians remaining on the show.

Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine—the four celebrity coaches on the show, once again lauded Mrozinski's performance.

"It's almost like you're watching a legend, a musical legend up there," said Shelton, a country music star.

"You know how we knew you were feeling it? It wasn't the choir, it wasn't the song choice ... it was when you lost control of your left foot," Levine joked, commenting on Mrozinski's foot-stomping performance onstage.

But the strongest reaction of the evening came from Mrozinski's own coach, Cee Lo Green, who wiped away tears following the performance.

"I saw an immaculate, impassioned performance," Green said.

Voting opened after the episode concluded on Monday. The two musicians receiving the fewest votes will be cut from the competition during a special elimination round airing Tuesday evening. To learn how to cast your vote for Nicholas, click here.
