Eagan City Officials to Host "Coyote Seminar"

Want to learn how to co-exist with coyotes? Attend this public safety seminar hosted by city officials.

Over a 10 year span, the Eagan Animal Control has received reports of coyote sightings from residents and investigated several attacks on unleashed pets.

Now, the city is hosting a free seminar to teach Eaganites how to co-exist with coyotes.

Two seminar sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 at the . Lynsey White Dasher, a nationally-recognized authority on urban wildlife, will be the keynote speaker for the event. The frequency of sightings increases annually around November as the foliage drops and the animals become more visible, according to police spokeswoman Danielle Anselment. City officials see another bump in February during mating season.
