Third Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Walk

360 Communities will present Sergeant Linda Myhre of the Eagan Police Department with the Community Caring Award at the Third Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Walk on April 25, 2012 for her partnership with 360 Communities Lewis House to end domestic violence and sexual violence in our community.

Myhre will be retiring from the Eagan Police Department in May.  She has worked for many years to ensure survivors of domestic violence are referred to 360 Communities
Lewis House for safe housing as well as other services.  She also educates 360 Communities sexual assault services advocates twice a year about police response to sexual assault cases.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention findings released in 2011, an average of 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States.

360 Communities Lewis House shelters in Eagan and Hastings provide important domestic violence outreach services, sexual assault services and violence prevention
education. More than 2,000 women and children benefit from the refuge and resources offered at 360 Communities Lewis House locations each year.
