123-Room Hotel Proposed for Site Near Eagan's New Outlet Mall
The hotel would be located near the parking garage for the Twin Cities at Eagan outlet mall.
A St. Paul-based company has submitted a request to the city of Eagan to purchase 0.9 acres of land near the Twin Cities at Eagan outlet mall in the Cedar Grove Redevelopment area, according to the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal.
The company, Morrissey Hospitality Cos., "has applied for franchise rights for Hilton Hotels & Resorts' Home2 Suites extended-stay brand," the Journal reports. The planned hotel would have 123 rooms with an average price of $117.
For parking, the city would charge Morrissey Hospitality Cos. $489,000 to use 129 parking spots in the city-owned 1,543-stall parking garage, says the Pioneer Press.
Eagan's Economic Development Authority will discuss the proposal on Dec. 3 during a portion of the city council meeting, according to the Pioneer Press. Morrissey Hospitality Cos. would plan for a spring 2015 opening for the hotel.
