Interstate Partners, , isn't the only business making waves in Eagan this week. Here's a quick rundown of some of the other recent business developments happening in the community.

  • New Car Wash Coming to Nicols Road?
The may soon be home to a new, free-standing car wash. On Tuesday, the business got a preliminary nod from the Eagan Advisory Planning Commission, which recommended approval of a conditional use permit for the project. The proposed car wash would replace an unused service garage at the site.

Holiday's proposal found favor with Eagan Advisory Planning Commission member Peter Dugan, who said he'd be glad to see the station replace the old service garage, which Dugan called an "eyesore".

Even with Dugan's support, the conditional use permit still needs final approval from the Eagan City Council. That could come as early as Sept. 4.
  • Eagan Car Club Development Proceeding
The Eagan Car Club, , was back in front of the Eagan Advisory Planning Commission this week. Local developer Kurt Manley, who wants to build a $4.3 million facility with 76 garage units for car collectors to buy and customize, is asking city officials to subdivide the six-acre site of the proposed facility into nine separate parcels. The commission unanimously recommended approval of the subdivision request, which may go before the Eagan City Council in September.

Manley, who was at the commission meeting, told the group that he plans to start phase one of construction later this year. Grading on the site has already started.
  • Plans Under Way for New Yogurt Bar in Eagan
Finally, the Eagan Promenade is slated to get a new CherryBerry yogurt bar, which could open within the next few days, according to CherryBerry District Manager Dan Nelson. The proposal for the self-serve frozen yogurt restaurant came before city staff earlier this spring, but the project hit a few delays over the summer. The restaurant has a rotating selection of over 50 premium heathly and fat-free yogurt flavors, with an equal number of toppings, according to the company's website. I'm still waiting to hear back from Dan, so expect more details on this business soon!
