Eagan Dentist Named President of Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Kellee Stanton of Eagan took the helm as president of the Minnesota
Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (MACD) on January 21, 2013.

Dr. Stanton is an active member of the MACD and has been involved in the organization since 2007 and has been a board member since 2009. The MACD is an affiliate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the mission of the MACD is to promote excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. The MACD currently has 55 members who come together to fulfill the academy’s mission through comprehensive and ongoing educational events, seminars and study meetings geared toward mastering cosmetic dentistry.

“I am so excited about the upcoming year as president of the MACD,” Stanton
said. 
“Together, all of us at the Academy will make a great team and I know we
will gain knowledge, help our field excel and have fun doing it!”

Dr. Stanton is the owner and president of George Dental Group; specializing
in Cosmetic and Family dentistry located in Eagan. Dr. Stanton received her
Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Minnesota School of
Dentistry in 2004 where she received numerous awards, including the Academy
of General Dentistry Certificate of Outstanding Achievement. Prior to dental
school, Dr. Stanton attended Gustavus Adolpus College in St. Peter, MN and the
University of Wyoming where she was awarded her Bachelors of Science (B.S.)
in Biology.

In addition to her work at MACD, she is a spokesperson for the AACD and
currently on the Board of Trustee’s for the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry Charitable Foundation (AACDCF). The AACDCF's mission is to assist
in rebuilding the lives and dignity of survivors of domestic violence through
compassionate cosmetic dental services and support programs. The program
provides restorative and cosmetic dentistry in the smile-zone at no cost to
qualified survivors through a nationwide network of volunteer cosmetic dentists
and a support team of laboratories and dental manufacturers.

In her free time, Dr. Stanton enjoys spending time with her husband and two
young children, running and reading a good book. She also spends time at
Community Dental Care in St. Paul, working with low-income and minority
families.
