Eagan Home Sales Up 50 Percent

Despite the uptick in sales, a new report by the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors shows new listings are down by more than 40 percent.

Home sales were up more than 50 percent in Eagan last month, and the median price of a home sold increased, according to a new report by the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors.

A September home sales report out this week shows the median price of a home sold in Eagan was $185,000, up 12.1 percent last month from September of last year.

Real estate agents in Eagan last month closed on 71 homes. That's up more than 50 percent from September 2010, when 47 homes were closed.

New listings are down more than 40 percent. Last month, 84 homes were listed for sale, but in September 2010, 149 homes had been newly listed.

In August, housing prices fell more than 21 percent and home sales more than doubled in Eagan.
