Warehouse Company Purchases 350,000-Square-Foot Building in Eagan

Minneapolis-based Murphy Warehouse Company plans to make $3 million in improvements to the building, which is located along Yankee Doodle Road.

Minneapolis-based Murphy Warehouse Company has purchased a 350,000-square-foot warehouse facility in Eagan, and plans to make $3 million in improvements to the structure.

The warehouse, located at 905 Yankee Doodle Rd., will serve customers in the food, medical, retail, paper and home construction industries, according to a press release issued by the company on Tuesday. The company has a total of 11 facilities in the Twin Cities area.

The company plans to add several environmentally sustainable features to the facility, including native prairie grass, sensor-controlled irrigation and solar panels. Murphy Warehouse Company also plans to construct a new access driveway to the property and re-establish rail connections so that it can bring railcars indoors. Future improvements to the building may including raising the warehouse roof 10-12 feet.

“We want to be a good neighbor in Eagan," Murphy Warehouse Company President and CEO Richard Murphy Jr. wrote in the press release. "Bringing this building back to life, and making it better than before with green features, is the Murphy way of doing business."
