Believe it or not but it is that time of the year ... football, school, changing weather and yes, the Fall Parade of Homes. If you have not heard of or ever checked out the Parade of Homes, I feel sorry for you and you should take a timeout!
The Parade of Homes runs Sept. 8 through Sept. 30th. Most of the homes are open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday-Sunday. This is a great opportunity to view new homes, neighborhoods and gather design ideas.
Many home sellers feel it is a competition with Parade of Homes properties but that is far from the truth. Home sellers can benefit from the Parade by tapping into the increased buyer traffic that the Parade generates. If you drive around this month, you will see a multitude of Model Home and Parade of Homes signs littering the streets directing buyers to their property. Why not get your Realtor to place open house signs for your place near the Parade signs to benefit from the exposure. People are out looking at homes so why not lure them to yours?!

Buyers get a great opportunity to look at new fully decorated homes. Here is another tidbit for you buyers ... most builders offer incentives and promotions if you purchase/build with them during the Parade of Homes. I have seen awesome promotions such as a finished basement, no lot premiums, cash back, etc.
Lastly, the rest of the world that is not planning on selling or buying a home can still benefit from the Parade of Homes. A lot of current homeowners walk through the Parade model homes to get new home design ideas, information on growing neighborhoods in their town or just to spend a wonderful Minnesota afternoon gawking at beautiful houses.
