A Farewell from a 2012-2013 Eagan Funfest Ambassador

Hello fellow Eagan Community Members!

My journey through the Eagan Funfest Ambassador program has been a delightful experience.  I have grown, not only as a person, but as a young lady.  Before I began the program, I had no idea how much work went into the festival we have each year.  Through this, I got an up close and personal experience to see what actually goes on and how long it takes to plan such a wonderful event for our city.

For an eighteen year old, this has taught me organization, planning, working skills, and also communication skills.  I have now been able to approach people with confidence which has helped me in many aspects of my life.  Before I decided to join the program, I was a young seventeen year old girl still learning about herself.  I was just starting my senior year at the School of Environmental Studies and continuing my education at a community school nearby while saving money to attend a university in the future.  When I was chosen to represent the Eagan Funfest Community, I was honored, and things began to change for me.

Attending parades and coronations filled my agenda and creating endless amounts of memories.  I began to grow more confident with myself and my actions.  While doing volunteer work throughout Eagan, I saw what a large impact one person could make, let alone six girls working together.

Now that my reign is almost over, my self-esteem has blossomed.  I have grown into an inspired young lady ready to conquer the world.  My plans in the future have now grown alongside with me, helping me to make a bigger impact.  I have now decided to attend Inver Hills Community College, and eventually move up to the University of Manitoba for environmental science.  If it was not for the Eagan Funfest Ambassador program, I would not have the drive and determination to reach for my goals.  I am so honored and lucky to have been able to represent the Funfest for the 2012 year.
