Ashlyn King shares some current activities

Another couple of months have passed and I’m still living everyday as an Eagan Funfest Ambassador to the fullest. Because in a blink of an eye it will be done, but I don’t want to think of that right now! Recently we have had so many more crazy fun events that I will always remember!

Can Do Canines was a very, very special event to go to. It was an event that showed what Help Dogs do when they are helping someone with a disability. We got to watch short clips of all the things that the dog does, like picking up the remote, opening up doors and even taking off socks. It was rewarding to see how much it impacted the people’s lives. And the dog really became a part of their lives. It was a graduation ceremony so the dogs got to go up there and receive a “diploma” which actually was a chew toy! The dogs loved the diploma. We even got hot chocolate after standing outside in the cold while we helped park cars! It was just an all-around great event and I would love to go back someday and help again.

One of the most recent events we did was Halloween Hodge Podge. That has been one of my favorite events so far. I worked the “Trick or Treat” section of the event. It was adorable to see all these little kids dressed up in costume and come to the different stations saying trick or treat. My favorite costumes were the ones where the kids were dressed up in full costume, like a giraffe or Elmo or something with the full body. It’s just so much fun to see the little kids really get into the Halloween spirit and dress up and get so excited when you give them a piece of candy.

Out of all the events I have attended those two were by far my favorite ones. I can’t wait till my next blog when I can tell everyone about my other events! I cannot wait to experience them!
