Rap Video Wins Eagan Thespians With Disabilities a Stage of Their Own
An Eagan non-profit that provides vocational and day training services to adults with disabilities entered their comical one-minute rap video in a national contest.
A short video alluding both to Hamlet and the Wizard of Oz has won an Eagan non-profit catering to adults with disabilities an honorable mention in a national contest run by a company that builds theater stages.
The staff and clients of Midwest Special Services filmed a comical, costumed one-minute video in which they promised to use the $10,000 stage to put on productions of plays such as "Grease," "The Odd Couple," and "A Streetcar Named Desire."
"What would we do with a StageTek stage? We'd give a shoutout to our favorite plays," a performer raps, rhyming "the kindness of strangers" with "there are no dangers."

The stage-building Wenger Corporation gave MSS four 4 x 8 platforms, steps, skirting, and a railing—worth a total of $6,000 to $7,000.
"So thrilled!" the non-profit wrote on its Facebook page. "That stage will be the host of lots of great performances in the future."
