Cigarette Taxes, Same-Sex Marriage and All-Day K: Eagan Legislators to Hold Wrap-up Townhall for 2013

DFL politicians Sen. Jim Carlson and Rep. Sandra Masin will hold a townhall to talk shop from 2013, a momentous and sometimes contentious year at the capitol.

Though partisan politics reached a fever pitch in 2013, there's one thing all sides can agree on: It was a busy session up at the capitol in St. Paul, with a number of new taxes passed, increases in the state minimum wage and a complete about face on the subject of gay marriage, once the subject of a possible constitutional ban that failed in November 2012.

Hear all about it from the legislators themselves. This weekend, Sen. Jim Carlson and Rep. Sandra Masin (two DFLers who represent Eagan and Burnsville) will host a Townhall at Wescott Library in Eagan. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 20 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The two will give a brief overview of the session, and then take questions and concerns from the audience.
