West St. Paul Woman Dies in Three-Car Accident on Lone Oak Road

Judith Ann Matthews, 68, died on Saturday after a crash in northeast Eagan.

One Dakota County woman is dead after another driver ran a red light and slammed into her car.

Judith Ann Matthews, a 68-year-old West St. Paul woman, was killed in an accident that occurred on Saturday morning, just before 9, at the intersection of Highway 55 and Lone Oak Road in Eagan.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Matthews was traveling west on Lone Oak at the time of the crash. As she proceeded through a green light, her 1999 Daewoo Leganza was struck broadside by a Jeep that had run a red. The impact pushed Matthew's car into a third vehicle, a 2000 Kenworth Tractor Trailer.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner concluded that Matthews died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries. The two other drivers escaped unscathed.

It is unclear as to whether the state will pursue criminal charges against driver of the Jeep, Thad White, a 59-year-old from Houston, TX. As of publication, Patch was still awaiting a response from the Minnesota State Patrol.

A memorial service for Matthews is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. More information can be found on Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home's website
