BLOG: Thanks For Supporting Zest!

Zest fundraiser provided entertainment as well as support for two local nonprofits, thanks to the many supporters.

We hoped it would be “The Liveliest Evening In Town,” and thanks to the
tremendous talent of local celebrities, sponsors, restaurants, entertainers and
amazing volunteers, it was exactly that.

Guests enjoyed watching cooking demos by Elizabeth Ries of Twin Cities Live and Celebrity Chef, Amalia Moreno-Damgaard. Throughout the evening, emcee Robyne Robinson, a news broadcaster and entrepreneur, kept everyone informed about the evening’s events. Nitaya Panemalaythong, Miss Minnesota USA, shared her story, as did Barb Schaller, a five-time Minnesota State Fair canning champion.

Ten restaurants, along with the Lost Spur Golf and Event Center, graciously
provided a sampling of delicious delicacies along with craft beer samplings. 25 silent auction baskets, containing worldly wonders, were in high demand.

Entertainment began with Trio Mexico welcoming guests, followed by a lively
performance by the Al-Bahira Dance Theater. An exciting game of Heads ‘n Tails,
led by Scott Swenson, earned a couple of  lucky people a wall of wine. The
evening concluded with the very talented O’Shea Irish Dance group performing to
traditional Irish music.

Special thanks to our sponsors: Mauer Chevrolet, Superior Service Center, State Farm Insurance (Nick DeVries, agent), Home Federal, Thrivent Financial—Northern & Southern Dakota County Chapters, Xcel Energy, Don Stevens & Dakota Electric.
