Eagan native and "The Voice" star Nicholas David will perform this Thursday, at Eagan High School, in front of the high school's the annual spirit week Pep fest.

Editor's Note: Eagan Patch is pleased to introduce Luke Moe, an Eagan Patch blogger and student at Eagan High School. In the coming weeks, he will be blogging about the high school community and youth issues for Patch.

Eagan native Nicholas David will return to his alma mater, Eagan High School, this Thursday to perform in front of Eagan’s annual spirit week pepfest.

Nicholas David graduated from Eagan in 1998 and finished third out of 64 in NBC’s hit singing competition "The Voice". This in-school performances is one of only three hometown performances Nicholas has agreed to perform at (the others being St. Joseph's in Rosemount, where he attended kindergarten through eighth grade, and Twin Cities Live.)

Eagan High School's production crews have been preparing for the concert since early last week. Extra steps are being taken to ensure the concert goes off without a hitch, including various power circuits and sound equipment.

"We are bringing in an alternative sound and lighting system to make it a more enjoyable concert experience” said production leader John Ratzlaff.

Paul Saxton, head of the IT department at Eagan, also commented on the fact that "the school is having trouble finding enough power for the amount of things wanting to be done at this performance," to which he added, "is probably a good thing."

Nicholas will be performing a three song set for approximately 13 minutes in front of the 2,100-member student assembly.

Although the pepfest is not open to the general public, Eagan Patch will have photos, video and an exclusive interview with Nicholas David following the event.
