Eagan Girl Scouts' Silver Award bring attention to Pet Adoption

Ellie and Amanda from troop 50460 learned a lot about Pet Adoption and how little actions can make a big difference. They brought attention to the need for pet adoption, and in doing so worked to minimize the number of stray animals.

They hosted a one day event to teach others about pet adoption issues. They had a "pet show" where pet owners could bring in their pets to have them judged and win prizes. At the event, there were informational booths set up for a pet rescue group, veterinarian, pet supple store, dog trainer, a pet kennel and a pet photographer.
This great event was held near the Eagan dog park. They had volunteers bake "pet treats" that were sold to raise money that was then donated to Last Hope.

The event raised $41 in cash, and $200 in pet food and pet products donations for Last Hope. They learned a lot about business planning and reached out to many pet related business to help out. Both girls learned a lot about organizing an event, marketing, budgeting and public relations. They created a brochure that educated people about pet adoption that will be distributed by Last Hope.

The event was a great fun event for the community, raised money for Last Hope and taught these future leaders about giving back to the community!
