WEDDINGS COMPARE AND CONTRAST IN 2011

I was involved in 3 weddings in 3 months in 2011—stepson, daughter, nephew. Here are some observations. All 3 couples had websites. Two out of three were destination weddings. All used social media—Facebook.

Locations: St. Paul; Mexico; San Diego

Weddings weather conditions: Winter below zero; Spring 60 degrees;  And summer-like weather 80's and sunny.

Site: Chapel; Sky deck; Cathedral

My participation: Walk behind Mom; walk bride down aisle; observer

Dress: Tux; Linen shirt with khaki pants and sandals; Suit and tie

Time of Marriage Ceremony: 40 minutes; 30 minutes; 1 hour, 10 minutes

Reception: All had DJ's with dancing, full meals, cake

Reception tidbits: Pizza later on at one; Bubble machine and individualized table photos at another; And signature drinks including Purple Rain at yet another

Each was unique in its own way. All were a lot of fun. Now we think we'll take a break for a while.
